Terms of Use

These terms apply to the “ScreenOn: Keep Screen Awake” application for macOS and this website. By installing or using them you agree to these terms.

What the application does

The application keeps the display of your Mac awake for the time you choose by telling macOS not to put it to sleep. It stores its settings on your Mac and has no servers, accounts or network connections of its own.

Licence

The application is free. Tikhon Ustinov grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it, in binary form, on computers that you own or are entitled to use, for personal or internal business purposes. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where the law allows this despite the restriction; sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute it; remove or change its copyright or licence notices; or use it to break the law or the rights of others.

Ownership

The application is not open source. Its source code, name, logo and design remain the property of Tikhon Ustinov. All rights that are not granted here are reserved.

Third-party components

The application includes third-party software under its own licences: the KeyboardShortcuts package (MIT) and the Inter font (SIL Open Font License). Those licences apply to those components, not to the application as a whole.

Heat and battery

Keeping a Mac awake uses power and can make it warm. This is most noticeable in the lid-closed mode of the direct download. Do not leave a Mac under load in a closed bag or without ventilation. You use these functions at your own risk.

No warranty and limit of liability

The application is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by law, Tikhon Ustinov is not liable for lost data, lost time, lost profit or any indirect or other damage caused by using the application. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the application, which is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Mac App Store

If you got the application from the Mac App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to that copy. If it conflicts with these terms, the Apple agreement prevails for that copy. Apple is not responsible for support or warranty of the application.

Changes, ending and contact

We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page. The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and then you must stop using the application and delete your copies. Questions about these terms: tih.ustinov2013@yandex.ru. If a translation differs from the English text, the English text prevails.
